During Covid-19, my journey as a UX designer took an unexpected but wonderful turn into the world of teaching. In 2021, I started working at BrainStation as an Educator for the UX Diploma Program.

What are some of the transferrable skills between teaching & UX?

Having both UX design experience & teaching experience allows me to combine different skills required in design and education to create a user-centered and effective solutions.

Reviews & Testimonials

During each bootcamp, educators are evaluated on a scale of 5 by each student in the class every 3rd, 7th and 12th week. In order to maintain the privacy of the students, all comments are anonymous, so the educator is not aware of which student provided the score. What methods did I use to keep my skills up to date?

Over the past two years, UX has played an integral part in my life, even though it wasn't in a traditional sense. In my role as a teacher, my students acted as clients, the education team was the design agency, and the curriculum was the product.

Key Learnings:
‍Teaching and mentoring students has taught me countless valuable lessons, but the most significant one has been learning to embrace ambiguity. This skill has become essential, not just in my career but also my personal life. While education was initially a step out of my comfort zone, teaching and speaking in front of large groups has become a passion. Additionally, I've learned to navigate the uncertainty that comes with not knowing where projects might lead. By trusting in the design process, I've witnessed tremendous growth, not just in my students' work but also in my own.
